Miriam Hoffman

Miriam is a renowned scholar with a 50-year career that includes 25 years of teaching the Yiddish language and Jewish culture at Columbia University. Her many books and weekly newspaper columns in the Forward have been read by thousands and her 700-page Key to Yiddish textbook is a standard curriculum for Yiddish educators around the world. She’s also a founder of the Joseph Papp Yiddish Theatre and a highly acclaimed playwright with award-winning works produced internationally.

Avi is ideally positioned to bring Jewish culture to today’s audiences. Recently inducted into the Bronx Jewish Hall of Fame, his award-winning productions have been seen worldwide and his one-man shows have brought laughter and learning to live theatre and national Public Television audiences for decades. His extensive experience in Interfaith Holocaust education and awareness has earned him an audience with Pope Francis.
